Brain Awareness Week event to get kids buckled in!
It's International Brain Awareness Week - which is always a week to think about where we need to make a difference!
This year our main event is hosting the Western Cape Minister for Health and Wellness, among other VIP stakeholders, to an event co-hosted by our African Brain Child research group and the brilliant Cape Town Science Centre where we focus on seat belt safety in kids!
Of the kids who arrive at Red Cross Children's Hospital with traumatic brain injuries from motor vehicle accidents, 96% of them WERE NOT wearing a seatbelt! The problem is of epidemic proportions with a very simple solution!
Listen to Associate Professor Ursula Rohlwink speaking about the intricacies of this issue with Pippa Hudson on CapeTalk Radio Show from Monday 16th March.
