Research Interests

I have four research interests. First is femicide and sexual homicide. Second is repeated mild traumatic brain injury and its culmination to chronic traumatic encephalophagy, specifically understanding aetio-pathologic mechanisms, diagnosis and correlation to violent behavior and mortality in the context of gender-based violence. Third is sudden unexpected death in epilepsy- epidemiology, epigenetics, and diagnostic modalities in the SA context. Fourth is brain banking in SA, exploring its role as a biorepository to advance collaborative regional and global neuroscientific research in brain diseases and injury.
