Associate Professor Dale Rae

Sleep Researcher, Deputy Head of Division of Physiological Sciences, Department of Human Biology

Research Interests

Our research at Sleep Science focuses on the physiological and behavioural aspects of sleep and circadian rhythms (i.e. the body’s 24h clock). We are particularly interested in how sleep and the body clock are associated with risk for obesity, cardiometabolic diseases, depression and anxiety. We are currently immersed in a longitudinal, Wellcome Trust-funded study investigating how changes in sleep and body in adolescents may either promote resilience or increase risk for depression and anxiety.
